Self-less Portrait Collage

Image
Describe : I used 5 portraits of my daughter and her horse.  I used emphasis on the horse and my daughter as they are centered in the frame.  I see color in the green dress and brown fur of the horse. Create: I used the move tool to bring in all five photos onto the background layer.  I transformed the sizes of each photo using control+T and shift to prevent distortion, rotated and over lapped each image.  I chose the color of the sky for the background blue color.  I used the FX tool under the layer panel to add drop shadows to each photo.

Silhouette

Image
Describe: I used a sunset photo that I took at the horse farm for my background photo. I found a photo of a bat, horse skeleton and trees for the silhouette shapes. One element that I used was space between the trees, bat and horse skeleton-it shows that the horse is in front of the trees and bat. One principle that I used is contrast between the pinks and oranges against the black shapes of the silhouettes. Create: I created this silhouette by creating selections of the bat, horse skeleton and trees, moving them to a new layer and resizing them in position. I filled them with black using the edit fill action.

Vignette

Image
Self Reflection Describe your BEST vignette (color or choice)-what is in the photo that you chose for your vignette? In this photo there is an orange tiger cat from the horse farm named Nacho and a yellow flower. Choose one of the following writing prompts to reflect on your experience: I noticed that the color provides emphasis within my image. The sepia toned vignette provided unity by applying the sepia color throughout the photo. This resulted in losing the yellow flower which leads your eye to the orange cat in the photo. I felt that this was a stronger image in color vs the sepia toned effect.
